Michael Smith is your average ‘car guy’ in the trade, as an automotive repair technician for a new car dealership in the Boston metro area. He learned the craft by working on the below-average-condition modes of transportation that were affordable to a young man learning how to wrench. This initial time spanned the end of the 1990s when 15-25 year old domestic cars were being sold very cheaply, and the best of those cars were primarily rear wheel drive. Those times left a lasting impression, and are now part of American automotive history. This page shares that history with the reader, a chapter at a time, from the view of A Gearhead.
